We begin by defining an independent judiciary. As we all know the judiciary is the third arm of government. It is very important for the judiciary to be independent as they are the arm of government responsible for justice. Being independent means that the judiciary is free from external control. This external control can come from the other arms of government and it is not needed.
It is very true to say that an influenced judiciary cannot perform it's function in all truth and to the best of its potential.
The judiciary being independent is very important as it is the refuge of the common man. The citizens rely on the court to solve their disputes hence they have to be credible with integrity, dignity and honour.
The judiciary being independent is a very integral milestone on the quest to justice.
